How to Set Up Buffer Channels for YouTube, Instagram and TikTok
Connect three Buffer channels and build a posting schedule so the queue auto-fills at your chosen times.
Buffer calls each connected account a channel, and its core idea is a queue: you set posting times once, then any post you add slides into the next free slot. This guide gets YouTube, Instagram and TikTok connected as channels and gives each one a posting schedule so the queue does the timing for you.
What you need
- A Buffer account (free covers up to three channels)
- A YouTube channel, an Instagram Business or Creator account, and a TikTok account
- Admin access to each so you can approve the connection
Step 1: Add a channel
From the Buffer dashboard click New channel, then pick the platform. Buffer opens that platform's sign-in, you approve access, and the channel appears in the left sidebar. Repeat for all three platforms.
Step 2: Open a channel's settings
Click a channel, then open its Settings and the Posting Schedule tab. This is where you tell Buffer which days and times this channel should publish at.
Step 3: Build the posting times
Add a few times per day and select the days they apply to. For example you might give TikTok three slots on weekdays and Instagram two. Each channel keeps its own schedule, so they do not have to match.
Step 4: Test the queue
Create a quick post, pick the channel, and choose Add to Queue. Buffer drops it into the next empty time slot automatically. Check the Queue tab to confirm it landed at the time you expected.
Result
All three platforms are now Buffer channels, each with its own posting times. From now on, anything you add to the queue is scheduled automatically at one of those slots instead of you picking a time every time.
