Build a jobs-to-be-done customer interview guide
Use before customer interviews to uncover the real job people hire your product to do.

Create an interview guide that:
1. Opens with rapport questions that are not leading.
2. Reconstructs the "switch moment" timeline (first thought, passive looking, active looking, decision, first use).
3. Digs into the forces: push of the old way, pull of the new, anxiety, and habit.
4. Uses follow-up probes that get to specifics ("tell me about the last time...") and never yes/no leading questions.
5. Ends with a question that surfaces the workaround they use today.
Give 12 to 15 questions in order, plus a one-line note on what each is meant to reveal.Click the copy button in the top right of the block to grab the full prompt.
