How to Turn a Blog Article into a Narrated Podcast with ElevenLabs
Convert a long written article into a polished single-narrator audio episode ready to publish.
Many readers would rather listen than read. ElevenLabs lets you turn any article into a narrated episode without a microphone. This guide takes a written piece, preps it for the ear, narrates it in Studio, and exports an episode you can upload.
What you need
- A finished article in plain text or markdown
- An ElevenLabs plan with Studio access
- A narrator voice you like, prebuilt or cloned
Step 1: Prep the text for listening
Written text has elements that do not work spoken aloud. Remove image captions, URLs, and parenthetical asides. Convert any numbered lists into spoken phrasing. Read your draft out loud once to catch anything that trips the ear.
Step 2: Create a Studio project
Open Studio, create a new blank project, name it after the article, and paste your cleaned text in.
Step 3: Set one narrator voice
Pick a single voice as the project default so the whole article reads in one consistent narrator. Choose a calmer voice and moderate stability for long-form listening; sharp, energetic voices tire the ear over many minutes.
Step 4: Generate and spot-check
Generate the project, then listen to the opening, a middle section, and the close. Regenerate any paragraph that rushes a transition or flubs a term. Pay attention to where sentences run long, since those are where pacing breaks down.
Step 5: Export and add music
Export the audio, then drop it into a DAW to add a short music bed under the intro and outro and to normalize loudness. Export the final file as an MP3 and upload it to your podcast host.
Result: a blog post becomes a listenable episode in well under an hour, with no recording session and no editing of your own voice.
