How to Write Original Lyrics with an AI Chatbot to Use in Suno
Use a chatbot to draft fresh, copyright-clean lyrics with proper section tags, then paste them straight into Suno or Udio.
Suno and Udio both sing whatever lyrics you give them, so the safest and most creative path is to generate brand-new words instead of borrowing an existing song. A chatbot is a fast co-writer for this. The trick is to ask for an original piece on your own theme, with the section tags the music tools expect, and to never ask it to copy or rewrite a real song.
What you need
- Access to any capable chatbot (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, or similar)
- A theme, story, or feeling you want the song to be about
- A Suno or Udio account to paste the result into
Step 1: Brief the chatbot with a clear, original prompt
Tell the chatbot the topic, the mood, the rough length, and that it must be wholly original. Ask explicitly for section tags so the lyrics drop into Suno or Udio without reformatting. Being specific about the emotion gives you sharper lines than a vague request.
Step 2: Check it is original and tagged correctly
Read the draft and make sure no line echoes a famous hook you recognize. If anything sounds borrowed, ask for that line to be rewritten. Confirm the section tags are in square brackets on their own lines, since that is the format both Suno and Udio parse for structure.
Step 3: Refine the hook and tighten the verses
The chorus is the part listeners remember, so iterate on it. Ask for three alternative chorus options, then keep your favorite and ask the model to make the verses lead into it. You can also request a syllable count per line to keep the rhythm even, which helps the vocal model phrase cleanly.
[Verse 1]
Gravel road behind the only house I knew
Mailbox waving like it wants to come too
[Chorus]
I'm driving toward a sky I've never seen
Past the water tower and the in-between
[Verse 2]
Mom packed sandwiches she folded twice in foil
Dad just nodded at the rust and the toil
[Bridge]
If I'm wrong I'll turn around, that's allowed
But tonight I'm louder than this whole small crowdStep 4: Paste into Suno or Udio
Open your music tool in Custom mode, drop the finished lyrics into the Lyrics box, and describe a matching style such as warm country folk, acoustic guitar, male vocals. Generate, and you have a song built entirely from words you and your co-writer created.
Result: a clean set of tagged, original lyrics that sing well, plus a repeatable prompt you can reuse for the next song by swapping the theme line.
