How to Connect Notion to Claude Using the MCP Connector
Wire your Notion workspace into Claude with the official Model Context Protocol connector so the model can read and search your pages.
Claude can read, search and summarize your Notion pages once you connect them through MCP, the Model Context Protocol. This is the cleanest way to let an AI work with your notes without copy and paste. In this guide you will turn on the Notion connector inside Claude and run your first query against a real page.
- A Notion workspace with at least one page or database
- A Claude account (Pro, Team, or a Claude.ai login)
- Admin or member access to install a Notion connection
- About 10 minutes
Step 1: Open the connectors settings in Claude
In Claude.ai click your profile, open Settings, then choose Connectors. This is the panel where Claude lists every external tool it can reach. You should see a row for Notion with an Add or Connect button next to it.
Step 2: Authorize the Notion connection
Click Connect next to Notion. A Notion window opens asking which pages Claude may access. Pick a specific page or a whole workspace section, then approve. Granting the narrowest access that still covers your work is the safest default.
Step 3: Confirm the connector is active
Back in Claude the Notion row now shows Connected. Start a new chat and look for the tools or attachment menu. Notion should appear as a source you can search.
Step 4: Run your first Notion query
Type a request that names what you want. Claude will call the connector, fetch the matching page and answer from it. If nothing comes back, the page was probably not included in the access step.
Result: Claude can now search and summarize the Notion pages you shared. Ask it to draft a status update, extract action items, or compare two pages, and it will read straight from your workspace.
