Find missing periods in a time-series table
Use when a time-series table should have one row per interval and you suspect missing periods.

1. Generates the full expected series of timestamps between the earliest and latest rows.
2. Left joins it against actual rows to surface every missing period.
3. If a grouping key is given, detects gaps independently per group.
4. Returns the gap start, gap end, and number of missing intervals.
