From Text and Images to 3D Models with Meshy

Generating 3D used to require modeling skills and hours of work. Tools like Meshy now turn a text prompt or a reference image into a textured 3D model in minutes. For indie developers and prototypers, that collapses the gap between an idea and an asset you can drop into a scene.

Two starting points

  • Text-to-3D: describe the object. Best for concepting and when you do not have reference art.
  • Image-to-3D: upload a reference. Best when you have concept art and want the model to match it.
Clear, single objects work best
Prompt for one well-defined object ("a weathered wooden treasure chest with iron bands") rather than a whole scene. Generators handle a single, clearly described asset far better than a cluttered composition.

Expect to generate a few times and pick the cleanest result. As with image and video tools, randomness means iteration is part of the workflow, not a sign you did something wrong.
